Medidata Solutions Achieves 26th Quarter of Consecutive Growth

Medidata Solutions, a global leader in electronic data capture
(EDC), management and reporting solutions, today announced the
company's 26th quarter of consecutive growth. Medidata completed the
quarter with an 81.5 percent year over year revenue growth, signing 13
new customers in the U.S., Europe and Japan and 15 follow-on contracts
    from existing customers.

Nine of Medidata's 13 new customers this quarter were due to the
success of its ASPire to Win partner program, which enables contract
research organizations (CROs) to meet sponsor demand for Medidata
Rave(R) and offer the platform in-house by building and deploying
studies with Rave certified resources. Additionally, 17 new trials
were initiated through existing ASPire to Win partners in the second
quarter alone. During Q2, Medidata entered into a new ASPire to Win
partnership with Chiltern Ltd to implement Medidata Rave to manage
electronic clinical trial data for pharmaceutical and biotechnology
    sponsors around the world.

    Additional highlights from Q2 include:

-- Growing European presence with H. Lundbeck A/S' selection of
Medidata Rave as its EDC, management and reporting solution to
manage several Phase II-IV trials with the goal of conducting
    10 or more studies in Rave each year;

-- Growth in biotech with the implementation of Medidata Rave
    with California-based BioMarin Pharmaceutical;

-- Continued relationships with pharmaceutical companies Sucampo
    Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and SuperGen, Inc;

-- Strategic technology partnership with SAS, integrating
Medidata Rave with SAS Drug Development to enable data
streamlined access to study data on one uniform,
    regulatory-compliant data management path.

In order to meet increased customer demand in 2007, Medidata
Solutions increased its staff 29 percent across R&D, services, sales
and strategic alliances and corporate areas throughout the U.S.,
Europe and Japan. Medidata's executives continued to drive industry
thought-leadership through a range of efforts:

-- United BioSource Corporation, Medidata and Tessella began the
first in a series of six educational webinars, entitled
    "Enabling Adaptive Clinical Trials."

-- Through partnering with Fast Track Systems, Medidata hosted a
webinar on integrating trial design and EDC study build for
    participants.

-- Medidata, invivodata and CDISC presented a DIA-sponsored
webinar on ePRO and EDC integration prior to the DIA Annual
    Meeting.

-- Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs and Quality
Assurance Earl Hulihan was honored at the DIA Annual Meeting
with the DIA Founders Service Award, recognizing his lifelong
contributions to medicine and regulatory science.

-- Medidata executives delivered presentations at industry events
in Q2 including 2007 CDISC European Interchange, 43rd Annual
DIA Meeting, 23rd Annual SQA Meeting, EDC & Beyond, SMi's 2007
Phase IV Conference, and ViB's 7th Annual e-Clinical Trials
    2007.

"We're pleased to attribute our continued growth this quarter to a
significant number of follow-on contracts with existing customers, new
sponsor commitments to Medidata Rave, and additional clients brought
on as a result of our partnerships with the industry's leading CROs,"
said Tarek Sherif, CEO of Medidata Solutions. "Through our strategic
addition of key global customers, partners and Medidata staff, we've
greatly increased our market presence this quarter and look forward to
further success through the second half of the year."
