US Bancorp third-quarter profit up 50 percent


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - US Bancorp said its third-quarter profit jumped more than 50 percent, helped by higher revenues from its fee-based businesses.

    Minneapolis-based US Bancorp said profit climbed to $908 million, or 45 cents a share, from $603 million, or 30 cents a share, a year earlier.

    Revenue increased almost 8 percent to $4.6 billion.
