Indexes end up with consumer shares



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended higher on Wednesday, led by gains in consumer stocks after a sales forecast from discounter Target Corp temporarily quelled concerns about consumer demand.

    Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 9.16 points, or 0.09 percent, to end at 10,415.01. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 1.61 points, or 0.15 percent, at 1,094.15. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 6.26 points, or 0.28 percent, at 2,215.70.
