SOURIAU Wins Two Major Contracts in North America, One on the BOEING B787 and the Other for BOMBARDIER Programs

SOURIAU, the worldwide specialist in connection technologies for
harsh environments, designed for industrial, military and aerospace
applications, and LABINAL, a company of the SAFRAN Group a worldwide
leading manufacturer of aerospace electrical wire harnesses and prime
partner of electrical wiring systems for the Boeing 787, have just
signed a 14 year contract to support the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
This agreement involves an estimated total amount of over $70 million
dollars, it is the fruit of the major investments made by SOURIAU in
    R&D, industrial facilities and logistics.

From the start of the 787 program, SOURIAU was involved in
development of the new generations of products with Boeing and Labinal
engineers based in Seattle, and the teams at SOURIAU France and USA
played an active part in drawing up the technical specifications for
    the circular connectors.

To comply with the requirements concerning weight for the new
BOEING "Dreamliner", the connectors made by SOURIAU each year will
utilize casings made of composite materials, which are 25% lighter
    than metal casings.

For several years, SOURIAU has carried out research work upstream
on composite materials, and it now has full mastery of the industrial
process on an internal basis. The connectors concerned are used for
all the vital functions of the aircraft: flight controls, engines,
fuel tank sensors, landing gear controls, etc.

Within the framework of the contract, SOURIAU is also to supply
the Stainless steel connectors that will be placed in very high
    temperature environments.

SOURIAU has been a BOEING and LABINAL supplier for a long time,
and this contract enables it to further strengthen its partnership
    with those prestigious customers.

SOURIAU has strengthened its position as world leader for
connection technologies in harsh environments, and it is now number
one worldwide in circular connectors for civil aeronautics, thanks to
its multi-year contracts with AIRBUS, BOEING, BOMBARDIER, EMBRAER and
    LABINAL.

Between 2003 and 2008, SOURIAU has seen its sales figures grow by
more than 135 million dollars, and it can count on further annual
growth of 27 million dollars in the coming years, thanks to its
constantly increasing market share and its development of new
    generations of products.

The full 38999 range, and the composite version in particular,
together with the latest technologies developed by Souriau, will be
displayed at the International Aeronautics and Space Show - Paris le
    Bourget, hall 2B, stand F11.
