Cleantech Venture Network Announces European Cleantech Award Winners for 2007



    The Cleantech Venture Network(R), a Cleantech Group(TM) company,
    announced today the winners of its European Cleantech Awards for 2007.
    The awards will be presented during Cleantech Forum XIII at the
    Frankfurt Marriott on May 14-16, 2007.

    The Cleantech Awards honor outstanding individuals, institutions
    or corporations whose leadership created, transform or accelerated
    markets for clean technologies (generating significant economic growth
    while solving global resource crises). Prior winners of the
    prestigious Cleantech Award include: Alternative Asset Market (AIM),
    London Stock Exchange; Wal-Mart; CalPERS; Sunpower Corporation;
    Schmack Biogas; Comverge; Bob Epstein (founder of Sybase and
    Environmental Entrepreneurs); Jesse Fink (founder of Priceline and
    MissionPoint Capital Partners) and Nancy Floyd (co-founder of Nth
    Power).

    Members of the Cleantech Venture Network(R) - composed of business
    leaders and investors from top-tier finance, science and policy
    institutions globally representing over EUR 5 trillion in capital -
    will convene at Cleantech Forum XIII May 14-16 2007 in Frankfurt to
    address solutions to climate change, water scarcity and other
    cleantech opportunities in emerging markets such as biotech/toxins and
    recycling.

    The Cleantech Leader of the Year is awarded to an organization or
    individual who has shown exceptional leadership in expanding market
    adoption of cleantech solutions.

    -- 2007 Winner: Sir Nicholas Stern: Sir Stern is the former Chief
    Economist, World Bank and author of the Stern Review on the
    Economics of Climate Change. During his recent tenure with Her
    Majesty's Government as Second Permanent Secretary Treasury,
    Sir Stern evaluated the effect of climate change on global
    economics. His work led to the publication of the Stern Review
    on the Economics of Climate Change, providing a clear economic
    case that higher investments in clean technologies in the
    short-term (mitigation) would lead to reduced disruption in
    the medium to long-term and provided a clear roadmap for
    policy-makers.

    The Cleantech Corporation of the Year is awarded to a major
    corporation, or its CEO, whose actions in 2006 significantly advanced
    the growth of cleantech markets and/or demand for cleantech products
    and services.

    -- 2007 Winner: Acciona Energia, Madrid, Spain: Acciona Energia
    is a global pioneer of wind energy products and has shown
    global leadership in accelerating wind energy products,
    technologies and integrated services.

    The Cleantech Emerging Enterprise of the Year is awarded to a
    company, or its' CEO, that experienced rapid growth and/or provided a
    high realized return to investors in 2006 by bringing a truly
    disruptive clean technology or business model to market.

    -- 2007 Winner: Renewable Energy Corporation, Oslo, Norway:
    Renewable Energy Corporation is focused on the latest
    innovations in solar energy. They are the world's largest
    producer of solar grade polysilicon wafers. Renewable Energy
    Corporation is the only company that produces products
    addressing the full value chain of the solar energy market.

    The Cleantech Pioneer is awarded to an individual whose early and
    continued investments generated positive returns and provided a
    roadmap in the creation of the cleantech investment category.

    -- 2007 Winner: Marcel Brenninkmeijer; founder and CEO, Good
    Energies, Inc.: Mr. Brenninkmeijer's pioneering and
    ground-breaking investments in solar photovoltaic companies
    and wind developers globally helped spur the cleantech
    investment category by demonstrating that investors could
    simultaneously do well and do good.
