FalconStor Applies Storage Management Learning to Spain's Universidad Antonio de Nebrija

FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: FALC), the leading developer of
proven data protection solutions, today announced an IPStor Enterprise
Edition deployment that has brought much-needed centralised storage
management to the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain, a
top-ten Spanish university, improving efficiency and reducing
    operational costs.

The deployment of a FalconStor IPStor server at each of the
university's two sites, each with a 1Gbit/s storage area network and
providing storage services for two file servers, has provided the
university with far greater control over its storage resources. The
integration was undertaken by FalconStor partner SM Data.

Prior to the deployment, the university operated two separate
networks, each spanning two different physical sites. In effect, this
arrangement required management of four sites, each comprising its own
storage cabinet and SAN network, which was expensive and inefficient.
IPStor has improved efficiency and reduced overall operational costs.

Daniel Magana Martinez, the University's IT manager, said: "What
we had in place, at great expense, was an overly complex
infrastructure that was probably too sophisticated for our needs.
IPStor enables us to simplify the infrastructure and make the best use
of the resources at our disposal, ensuring our 300 staff and 1300
students always have access to IT services."

Sergi Torrens, sales manager for Spain, FalconStor, said: "IPStor
is the ultimate flexible platform. Today it is simplifying the whole
storage management process for the university; tomorrow, if they
wanted to mirror data between the university's two sites for disaster
recovery purposes, it would still be IPStor that would do that."
