Wall Street trims losses as banks rise



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks cut losses on Tuesday to trade flat as brokerage comments on banks lifted the sector, offsetting worries about the impact of rising Treasury yields on the housing market.

    The Dow Jones industrial average dipped 4.77 points, or 0.04 percent, to 10,968.78. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added 0.87 points, or 0.07 percent, to 1,188.31. The Nasdaq Composite Index inched up 1.78 points, or 0.07 percent, at 2,431.31. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr; Editing by Padraic Cassidy)
