EFD(R) Introduces Two New Dispense Valve Controllers

EFD, Inc; a Nordson Company, introduces its new ValveMate(TM) 8000
Dispense Controller and the ValveMate(TM) 8040 Spray Controller, which
give manufacturers a more cost-effective way to operate multiple EFD
    dispense and spray valves.

Thousands of companies throughout the world use EFD dispense
valves to apply adhesives, lubricants, sealants and other assembly
fluids in their production processes. The primary control of deposit
size with any EFD valve is "valve open time." The ValveMate 8000 and
ValveMate 8040 controllers provide convenient push-button adjustment
of valve open time at the dispensing station.

Until now, one valve was usually paired with one controller. While
this approach was effective, each controller required its own
compressed air and electrical connections. The new EFD controllers
overcome these issues. The ValveMate 8000 is capable of controlling 1-
4 valves and the ValveMate 8040 1-2 spray valves.

"EFD's new ValveMate controllers simplify setup and provide
exceptional process control," states Peter Lambert, President of EFD.
"Our controllers allow customers to put the same amount of fluid on
every part, every time. This reduces rework and rejects, achieves
better quality, lowers their production costs and increases overall
    profitability."

The control unit contains the timer and electronics, while
external solenoids open and close the valves. This approach saves
space and simplifies installation, since only one set of
air/electrical connections is needed. Another benefit is that mounting
the solenoids close to the valves ensures the fastest possible
response time so that dispensing stations can run at optimal speed.

    Features:

-- Push-button adjustment of Valve Open Time

-- Valve times may be set individually or grouped

-- Time may be manually entered or programmed using a "Teach"
    function

-- Low air pressure alarm sound if air pressure drops below
    specified operating parameters

-- Purge function can be actuated individually by valve or for
entire valve group when fluid reservoir is replaced

-- End-of-cycle feedback can signal machine Programmable Logic
    Controller (PLC) for maximum efficiency
