GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Announces CT11, CP11, Rugged CR11 6U CompactPCI Single Board Computers With Dual Core Intel Technology

Providing further evidence of the company's leadership in
developing single board computers that respond to customer demand for
increased processing performance with lower power dissipation, and the
ability to deploy in harsh environments, GE Fanuc Embedded Systems
today announced the CT11 , CP11 and CR11 6U CompactPCI CPU boards with
integrated dual core Intel(R) processing technology: versions are
available with the Core(TM)2 Duo processor, the Core(TM) Duo processor
    and the Celeron(R) M processor.

The new family supports both a 32- and 64-bit processor
architecture, and is designed to meet the exacting requirements of
    commercial, telecommunications and military/aerospace organizations,
with specific applicability to simulation/training and
test/measurement. All three are designed to operate in a temperature
range of -40 degrees C to +75 degrees C (depending on configured
options), with the CR11 being optionally available as a rugged version
with stiffener bars and wedge locks or in conduction-cooled form. All
three boards are PICMG 2.1 compliant for hot swap capability.

"These single board computers set a new performance-per-watt
standard in processing throughput, as well as providing a rugged
option," said Wayne McGee, Global Director of SBC Product Line
Management at GE Fanuc Embedded Systems. "The latest dual core
technology delivers a level of performance that tomorrow's
applications will require, while lowering the dissipated heat - making
them ideal for applications that demand not only high performance, but
that are also deployed in restricted space or other harsh
environments. They also offer a range of options, allowing customers
to select the optimum solution for each requirement."

The CR11 rugged single board computer provides a unique feature
set, including 4 GBytes of soldered DDR2 SDRAM with enhanced ECC for
    increased reliability; two 10/100/1000 BaseT Gigabit Ethernet ports;
Flash drive or local UDMA100 2.5" hard disk; two SATA channels with
RAID 0/1 capability; high performance 2D and 3D graphics acceleration
with 32 MBytes memory and front/rear VGA and rear DVI-I up to 1,280 x
1,024 resolution; audio capability; two PMC sites (a PCIExpress(TM)
XMC interface is available on request in place of one of the PMC
sites); two serial ports; and four USB 2.0 ports. The CR11 also
features four independent on-board PCI buses. It is RoHS compliant,
and supported operating systems are Windows(R), Linux(R) and
VxWorks(R). Integrity is available on request.

Intel's IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management) Interface is
supported on the CT11, which otherwise provides the same functionality
as the CR11, but for non-rugged applications.

The CP11 delivers the same feature set as the CT11, but is a dual
slot version, allowing for two PMC slots as well as on board hard
disk/CompactFlash working in parallel, together with all possible
    front I/O functions.
