RadioFrame Networks Announces All-IP Femtocells to Integrate with IP Multimedia Subsystem Core Networks



    RadioFrame Networks, Inc., a leader in IP-based picocell and
    femtocell solutions for the mobile marketplace, announced today the
    introduction of all-IP Femtocells that integrate seamlessly with
    next-generation IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core networks. The
    announcement was made at the Cellular Telephone Industry Association
    (CTIA) trade show in Orlando where RadioFrame is exhibiting this week.

    RadioFrame is introducing the all-IP architecture as the next
    logical evolution of the company's product development plans. After
    enabling easy integration with existing networks through legacy
    Abis/Iub interfaces and facilitating migration with RadioFrame's
    recently announced collapsed Base Station Subsystems (BSS), the
    company is now set on enabling direct integration with IMS core
    networks through Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interfaces. This
    broad range of solutions allows Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to
    pursue their IMS integration as aggressively or as conservatively as
    the Mobile Network Operator network plans require.

    Moreover, RadioFrame's all-IP architecture enables the deployment
    of SIP-based voice and data services while utilizing RadioFrame's
    current IP-based radio solutions, such as the company's innovative GSM
    and UMTS femtocells. The unique benefits brought by the development of
    RadioFrame's proprietary OmniRadio(TM) Processor makes the femtocell
    agnostic to the handset type and to the architecture of the core
    network and results in a high degree of usability. Through a simple
    software upgrade, the 2G/3G femtocell can be upgraded from a release
    99 base station to an IMS access point in a process that is seamless
    to the end user.

    RadioFrame also announced today the introduction of a femtocell
    product solution that provides simultaneous 2G and 3G voice and
    high-speed data coverage for the indoor residential and small business
    markets. Both announcements come on the heels of a series of picocell
    and femtocell product developments the company announced at the 3GSM
    trade show last month in Barcelona, Spain. In addition to mapping out
    a suite of products at that time, RadioFrame also introduced its
    OmniRadio(TM) Processor microchip. This processor forms the core of
    the OmniRadio(TM) Platform used in RadioFrame's femtocell products. In
    the future, the company intends to produce versions of the femtocell
    series for other technologies such as WIMAX and LTE.
