RadioFrame Networks Announces Femtocell Base Station Subsystem (BSS) Capable of Providing Simultaneous 2G and 3G Coverage

RadioFrame Networks, Inc., a leader in IP-based picocell and
femtocell solutions for the mobile marketplace, announced a
femtocell-based product solution that provides simultaneous 2G and 3G
voice and high speed data coverage for the indoor residential and
small business markets. The announcement was made at the Cellular
Telephone Industry Association (CTIA) trade show in Orlando where
    RadioFrame is exhibiting this week.

The product is a significant development for the growing indoor
wireless network marketplace, because while 2G femtocells provide
compatibility with 2G and 3G handsets, they do not provide high speed
data service beyond what Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE)
networks can offer. A 3G only femtocell solution is also problematic
because it would exclude more than two billion 2G handsets from using
the indoor network. The convergence of both 2G and 3G on the same
femtocell allows Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to offer customers
the ability to leverage 2G and 3G handsets inside their home or office
building, with voice and low speed data services to all handsets and
high speed data services to 3G-capable handsets.

"This is a major breakthrough in the way carriers are thinking
about penetrating the indoor market," said RadioFrame Networks
President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Brown. "Being flexible in
deploying residential and small business solutions while maximizing
the services that an MNO can deliver to each individual handset will
increase customer satisfaction and revenue per subscriber making it a
key component to a successful go-to-market strategy for the carriers."

RadioFrame also announced today the introduction of an all-IP
Femtocell product that integrates with the next generation IP
Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core networks. Both announcements come on
the heels of a series of picocell and femtocell product developments
the company announced at the 3GSM trade show last month in Barcelona,
Spain. In addition to mapping out a suite of products at that time,
RadioFrame also introduced its OmniRadio(TM) Processor microchip. This
processor forms the core of the OmniRadio(TM) Platform used in
RadioFrame's femtocell products. In the future, the company intends to
produce versions of the femtocell series for other technologies such
    as WIMAX and LTE.
