Picis Announces Latest Release of Critical Care Software

Picis, Inc. today announced the availability of version 8.0 of
    CareSuite(TM) Critical Care Manager(TM), the company's flagship
point-of-care documentation and care system for intensive care units
(ICUs). Critical Care Manager automatically collects, stores and
displays patient information from the flowsheet and documentation of
treatments, care measures and assessments, helping clinicians improve
    patient care and efficiency.

To fulfill global demand for new and upgrading sites, version 8.0
is scheduled to be translated and released in multiple languages
including Spanish, French, Swedish, German, Portuguese, Danish,
Norwegian, Finnish and Dutch. Picis plans to demonstrate the new
release of Critical Care Manager at the International Symposium on
Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (ISICEM) in Brussels, Belgium,
    stand number 59-60 (March 27-30).

"After more than a decade of clinical use in the leading medical
centers around the world, Picis' critical care technology is
continuing to be specifically tailored to the changing clinician needs
in the ICU," stated Professor J.L. Vincent, Department of Intensive
Care and Emergency Medicine of Erasme Hospital in Rotterdam, lead
organizer of ISICEM and a Picis user. "Picis continues to provide
critical care clinicians with the tools and capabilities to enhance
documentation, reporting and data integration in the ICU. We are also
pleased to maintain our long-standing association with Picis through
    its sponsorship of the Symposium."

With extensive data collection and medical device connectivity,
Critical Care Manager is designed to provide clinicians with quick and
complete patient information to help in their assessment and
treatments, maximize resources in the department and analyze and
reduce the costs of high-acuity care.

Critical Care Manager also provides clinicians with remote access
to the vast and rapidly-changing data generated in critical care
areas, allowing them to support the department and patient care while
    away from the ICU.

Highlights of Critical Care Manager Version 8.0 New Features
    include:

-- Care Metrics--this new feature enables the clinical team to
review data on key events and treatments, such as the
initiation of ventilator support and antibiotic therapy from a
single viewing location--both of which may require an
intervention, depending upon when the treatment with the
patient began. This feature facilitates medical management of
the patient's care and further supports one central electronic
    patient record.

-- Combined Medication Orders--Critical Care Manager now supports
the creation, prescription and documentation of combined
medication orders, enabling the system to more efficiently
reflect the total amount of individual medications
administered. This client-driven enhancement helps to provide
clinicians with more complete information on patient care and
hospitals with more accurate data for tracking billable
    charges.

-- Enhanced Real-Time Fluid Functions--Clinicians can now modify
fluid records to account for bolus infusions, independent of
the actual time an infusion pump was initiated or
discontinued. This enhancement to Critical Care Manager's
real-time fluid interface helps improve the accuracy of
    charting.
