Oberthur Card Systems and Sicap Team up to Reduce Configuration Costs for Mobile Operators

Mobile devices configuration remains the first barrier to
subscribers multimedia services adoption. This leads to poor data
service usage, negative word-of-mouth advertising and higher customer
calls related to configuration problems. The issue is emphasized as
more and more end-users own several handsets.

Now, mobile operators can rely on a completed solution based on an
Oberthur Card Systems' SIM embedded IMEI-tracking applet and the Sicap
Device Management Center (DMC), geared by Swapcom technology.

The IMEI-Tracking applet automatically detects the SIM card when
introduced into the handset; the handset serial number is then
transmitted to the Device Management Center and data services(1)
settings are automatically sent to the handset.

The subscriber can seamlessly access to all operator multimedia
services.

dramatically reduce configuration costs and customer calls to the
