Wavecom Joins ERTICO

    Wavecom (Paris:AVM) (NASDAQ:WVCM) (ISIN:FR0000073066) announced it
has become a member in the ERTICO alliance.

ERTICO is a partnership of companies involved in the European
transport system whose goal is to reinforce a future European
transport system that is safer, more efficient, more sustainable and
more secure than today. Through Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
and Services technology, combined with the appropriate investment in
infrastructure, the partnership efforts will result in reducing the
number of accidents and congestion, while making transport networks
more secure and minimizing their impact on the environment.

As the world's leading supplier of wireless communications
solutions to the automotive industry, Wavecom is pleased to now be a
member of ERTICO. Pierre Piver, Wavecom Vice President, Automotive,
commented, "ERTICO represents the best in cooperation among a wide
variety of players in the transport industry who are working together
to improve all aspects of the industry here in Europe," he went on to
say, "to date, the results coming from ERTICO demonstrate true world
leadership and we are looking to bring our experience and our
solutions in order to help improve transport systems not only in
    Europe but around the world."

ERTICO Director of Development & Deployment Michael Nielsen
stated, "Having industry-leading partners such as Wavecom in our
organization is critical for success in ITS deployment. Wavecom has a
technological portfolio and expertise that complements our
initiatives. Together with the other ERTICO partners, Wavecom plays an
important role to create solutions that solve the problems we see in
    European mobility systems today."

Membership in ERTICO is a natural extension to the contribution
Wavecom is already making to the European Commission's eSafety Forum.
The European Commission's major initiative, eCall (standing for
emergency call) is implementing an action plan to promote pan-European
in-vehicle emergency call initiatives by using combined information
and communications technologies of which Wavecom is the world-leading
supplier. The European Commission recognizes the potential that
in-vehicle communications can have on reducing the number of
fatalities, the severity of injuries and the stress in post-crash
situations, by speeding up the response time of emergency services.
