WHISHER Re-Loads Wi-Fi: New One-Click Service Combines Shared Wireless Access With Social Networks

WHISHER, a newly launching Spanish company, today unveiled a
completely new approach to Wi-Fi, offering an online software
application, that's free, fast and easy-to-use, while also providing a
slew of social networking features designed to enhance wireless
communication. The new service enables people to quickly tap into the
best wireless resources in their proximity, while offering all
connected "WHISHERS" free perks within the application, such as
Instant Messaging, file sharing, direct access to local services and
the ability to set up their own micro community networks. The software
can be installed in minutes and works with all kinds of Wi-Fi
    hardware.

In a related announcement today, WHISHER stated it has received
funding from Benchmark Capital Europe and Swisscom. The globally
launching beta service will be live on January 30th at
www.whisher.com, for Windows, Mac and Linux users.

"I am a big believer in Wi-Fi sharing and WHISHER is making the
process of finding the best connection easy, while providing the tools
to make the connection more secure," stated Chris Shipley, executive
producer of the DEMO conferences. "I especially like the clever
communication services, such as instant messaging and message postings
about local services, so that consumers and businesses can get more
value from of the immediacy of wireless."

"We're committed to making Wi-Fi free and fun on a global basis.
Wi-Fi signals are everywhere and constantly growing, but the process
of connecting to them is going from bad to worse. Even worse than
that: Wi-Fi is boring," stated Ferran Moreno, co-founder and CEO of
WHISHER. "WHISHER will give people the means to create networks within
networks, to reinvent the way we search for content or communicate
with others. And most importantly, to have the most fun they've ever
had with their Wi-Fi without paying a dime."

With proliferation of wireless devices, Wi-Fi will soon become a
more important tool for staying connected. Welcome to Wi-Fi 2.0.
WHISHER takes the hassle out of getting connected by offering an
online software application that serves as a wireless guide for
finding the best access points available and getting connected.
Members of the community can tag, rate or leave comments about any
wireless hotspot, whether they're in their own backyard or across the
    globe.

WHISHER's service also includes features that support an emerging
wireless community, such as the ability to share files, use Instant
Messaging or set up private or public wireless networks. All of these
services are provided directly within the wireless network,
    simplifying wireless communication and exchanges.
