Climate change bill clears key hurdle in House


    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Legislation that would force U.S. industries to sharply reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases over the next few decades cleared an important procedural hurdle in the House of Representatives on Friday.

    The House narrowly approved a rule for debating the bill, setting up a vote later on Friday for passing the climate change legislation President Barack Obama has sought.
