City of Franklin, Tennessee, Joins Bentley's Municipal License Subscription Program

Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced that the city of
Franklin, Tennessee, has joined Bentley's Municipal License
    Subscription (MLS) program.

Bentley's MLS offers municipalities all the software they need to
design and manage all their infrastructure for a fixed annual fee
based on population. The breakthrough program enables them to improve
productivity and reduce administrative costs by outfitting their
entire mapping and engineering organizations with fully integrated
software for GIS and engineering workflows. This leads to improved
    services and more efficient government.

Franklin, a fast-growing city in Tennessee just south of
Nashville, serves a population of 48,000. The city uses Bentley's
WaterGEMS water modeling product in its engineering and water
departments and is expanding its use of WaterGEMS through Bentley's
MLS. In addition, in the near future, Franklin will deploy
MicroStation, StormCAD, and Bentley Fiber - with other Bentley
    software to follow.

Said Mike Proctor, IT manager for Franklin, "A key benefit of our
new MLS is the ability to provide improved services to our citizens.
Take, for example, water and wastewater services, which are always a
challenge in cities experiencing rapid population growth. Our expanded
use of WaterGEMS will enhance our ability to continually remodel our
water network to account for the city's many new subdivisions and,
    thus, maintain the required capacities.

"In terms of our internal organization, the biggest benefits of
the MLS will result from our ability to share data more effectively
across departments and to quickly and easily access a wide array of
software to support our infrastructure projects. For starters, our use
of MicroStation will enable us to more effectively collaborate with
the Tennessee Department of Transportation, which also relies on
MicroStation for many of its projects. And our adoption of Bentley
Fiber will allow us to better manage the city's 60 miles of fiber
optic cabling, currently being managed using paper documentation."

Bentley's MLS program provides municipalities with unlimited
access to a comprehensive portfolio of integrated GIS and engineering
software for all of their infrastructure, including:

-- Public works - roads, bridges, water, sewer, and storm

    -- Land development

    -- E-government

    -- Light rail design

    -- Community broadband

-- Water and wastewater treatment plant design

    -- Urban planning

    -- Cadastre management

    -- Public safety

    -- Municipal building design

    -- Mapping and 3D modeling

Because the program's fee is fixed, Bentley's MLS guarantees
predictable software costs and budgeting. In addition, it removes the
administrative burden of complex software licenses, shortens
procurement cycles, speeds project starts, and ultimately leads to
    more efficient government.

    About Franklin, Tennessee

Franklin, Tennessee, is a special community. With few exceptions,
residents believe that the city offers a high quality of life, and
they rate this aspect as the most important factor affecting their
decision to live in the community. Franklin has gained national
recognition for its downtown revitalization and for devising impact
    fee strategies for new development.

Franklin's population doubled in the 1990s and is currently about
48,000. Its population is expected to double again over the next 20
years. In addition to residential growth, Franklin has attracted a
significant number of commercial and industrial employers, including
many headquarters or regional offices. Numerous factors have fueled
Franklin's growth. The most compelling appear to be the charm and
historic small-town character offered by Franklin as one of America's
quintessential small towns. For more information, go to
