Nasdaq briefly turns down with Google


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq briefly dipped into negative territory on Friday as Google Inc shares reversed gains.

    Google shares began the session higher following the company's strong earnings results late Thursday.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 50.93 points, or 0.43 percent, at 11,873.73. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 5.26 points, or 0.41 percent, at 1,285.52. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 1.17 points, or 0.04 percent, at 2,705.46.
