Wall Street rises despite Citi earns, Apple



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks gained on Tuesday, overcoming weak Citigroup results and concerns circling Apple after news of Chief Executive Steve Jobs' medical leave.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 50.55 points, or 0.43 percent, to end unofficially at 11,837.93. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 1.78 points, or 0.14 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,295.02. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 10.55 points, or 0.38 percent, to close unofficially at 2,765.85.
