Police: U.S. Discovery Channel suspect shot, hostages safe


    SILVER SPRING, Md (Reuters) - Police shot a gunman who held three hostages at the Discovery Channel headquarters near Washington and took him into custody, police said on Wednesday.

    The hostages were safe, police said. They did not give the condition of the gunman.
