Wall Street slips; Walgreen weighs

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell on Monday, with the Nasdaq losing 1 percent, at the start of what is expected to be a light trading week as investors took in corporate earnings and details on retail sales.

    * Walgreen Co , one of the country's largest drug store chains, fell after posting earnings below forecasts, while oil prices stabilized on Monday, which could ease fears of weakening global demand.

    * The Dow Jones industrial average dipped 3.35 points, or 0.04 percent, to 8,575.76. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 4.79 points, or 0.54 percent, to 883.09. The Nasdaq Composite Index gave up 14.84 points, or 0.95 percent, at 1,549.48.
