Wall Street slides 1 percent



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell for a second straight day on Thursday as investors were discouraged by employment and housing market data and focused on underwhelming earnings reports from Stanley Black & Decker Inc and Qualcomm Inc.

    The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 123.14 points, or 0.94 percent, to 12,909.61. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 13.03 points, or 0.94 percent, to 1,372.11. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 32.04 points, or 1.06 percent, to 2,999.41.
