Dow index turns negative


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks extended losses in late morning trade on Wednesday with the Dow turning negative.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was down 2.15 points, or 0.02 percent, at 11,835.78. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 7.80 points, or 0.60 percent, at 1,287.22. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 21.64 points, or 0.78 percent, at 2,744.21.
