Nasdaq up 1 percent; S&P 500 hits session high



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq gained more than 1 percent and the S&P 500 climbed to a session high in late trading on Tuesday, helped by solid corporate results and data on pending home sales.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 115.17 points, or 1.13 percent, at 10,300.70. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 13.77 points, or 1.26 percent, at 1,102.96. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 19.65 points, or 0.91 percent, at 2,190.85, after rising more than 1 percent.
