Nasdaq falls 1 percent; Apple leads decline



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Technology shares lost 1 percent on Friday, with Apple shares leading the Nasdaq's decline, while the Dow and the S&P 500 edged lower.

    APPLE (AAPL.NQ)was on track to break a string of 10 months of gains on Friday, two days after the company unveiled its newest portable computer, the iPad.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was down 7.86 points, or 0.08 percent, at 10,112.60. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 4.82 points, or 0.44 percent, at 1,079.71. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 23.78 points, or 1.09 percent, at 2,155.22.
