Dow, S&P 500 end lower, J&J disappoints



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Dow and S&P 500 stock indexes ended lower on Tuesday as disappointing sales from Johnson & Johnson stirred jitters about the strength of earnings, snapping the S&P 500's six-day winning streak.

    Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 12.32 points, or 0.12 percent, to end unofficially at 9,873.48. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 2.64 points, or 0.25 percent, at 1,073.55. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 0.75 points, or 0.04 percent, at 2,139.89.
