Shares cut gains after ECB funding news



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks sharply cut gains on Tuesday after news the European Central Bank stopped monetary policy operations to some Greek bank because recapitalization was not in place, central bank sources told Reuters.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 35.08 points, or 0.28 percent, to 12,667.08. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 4.25 points, or 0.32 percent, to 1,334.91. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 8.30 points, or 0.29 percent, to 2,902.06.
