S&P 500 rises for seventh week


    NEW YORK (Reuters)- The S&P 500 ended a seventh straight week of gains on Friday with a banks-led rally after encouraging results from JPMorgan Chase & Co .

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 55.48 points, or 0.47 percent, at 11,787.38. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 9.48 points, or 0.74 percent, at 1,293.24. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 20.01 points, or 0.73 percent, at 2,755.30.
