Wall St opens up as jobless claims dip



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks rose at the open on Thursday after data showed first-time applications for unemployment insurance, though still high, fell more than expected in the latest week.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 21.26 points, or 0.21 percent, to 10,081.32. The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 3.36 points, or 0.32 percent, to 1,058.69. The Nasdaq Composite added 3.82 points, or 0.18 percent, to 2,145.36.
