Market ends lower after jobs data



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended lower on Friday and closed out their worst week in two months as disappointing jobs data was the latest in a series of economic reports showing a tepid recovery.

    Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 46.12 points, or 0.47 percent, at 9,686.41. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 4.84 points, or 0.47 percent, at 1,022.53. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 9.57 points, or 0.46 percent, at 2,091.79.

    For the week, the Dow was down 4.5 percent, the S&P 500 was down 5 percent and the Nasdaq was down 5.9 percent.
