Indexes fall 1 percent after jobs data

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks tumbled more than 1 percent at the open on Friday as lower-than-expected jobs growth in May dented hopes for the employment outlook.

The Dow Jones industrial average slid 157.50 points, or 1.54 percent, at 10,097.78. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 19.00 points, or 1.72 percent, at 1,083.83. The Nasdaq Composite Index was off 43.96 points, or 1.91 percent, at 2,259.07, and was briefly down more than 2 percent.
