Brazil arrests man who beheaded British girlfriend



    BRASILIA (Reuters) - Brazilian police on Thursday arrested a man accused of having decapitated and mutilated his British teenage girlfriend after a spat over drugs, a spokeswoman said.

    The Brazilian MAN (MAN.XE)confessed to having killed Cara MarieBurg, aged 17, on Saturday in the central city of Goiania aftershe threatened to tell authorities he was a drug dealer, LenitaAlves de Brito, spokeswoman for local police, told Reuters.

    Police found on Monday an abandoned suitcase with herheadless and limbless body, which Cara's mother identified onpictures that were distributed by Interpol, Brito said.

    Goiania lies some 120 miles (200 km) southwest of thecapital Brasilia.

    Burg had shared an apartment for three months with the man,whom she had met in Britain, Brito said.

    Police found drugs in his apartment.
