Huge blast, gunfire heard at popular hotel in Mogadishu


    NAIROBI (Reuters) - A huge blast and gunfire were heard at a popular hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Friday, police said. It was not immediately known if there were casualties or who was behind the attack on the Maka Al Mukaram hotel.

    Captain Ali Hussein, a police officer in Mogadishu, told Reuters that gunfire could be heard inside the hotel compound.
