One person dead in Japan after quake

TOKYO (Reuters) - One person was killed in a landslide after a strong earthquake in northern Japan on Saturday, Japan's TV Asahi reported.

The landslide occurred in Iwaki City in Fukushimaprefecture, north of Tokyo, after a shallow quake with apreliminary magnitude of 7.0 jolted the region at 8:44 a.m.(2344 GMT).
