Mali government resigns, new PM appointed - state TV



    BAMAKO (Reuters) - Mali's government has resigned, a presidential spokesman said on state television late on Saturday.

    "Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, president of the Republic and head of state ended the functions of Oumar Tatam Ly, prime minister and head of government, following the announcement of the resignation of the government on 5 April 2014," the statement said.

    Moussa Mara, formerly town planning minister, has been appointed prime minister, the statement added.
