Death toll jumps to 28 in Iraq police academy bomb

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The toll in a suicide bomb attack at a Baghdad police academy jumped to 28 killed, 57 wounded, police said on Sunday.

The attack took place as recruits gathered at Baghdad's main police academy. Such recruits have been a frequent target for militant attack in the six years of war since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion to oust Saddam Hussein.
