Arch Reinsurance Ltd. Announces Opening of Zurich Branch



    Arch Reinsurance Ltd. is pleased to announce the opening of its
    branch office in Zurich, Switzerland. The new office further extends
    Arch Reinsurance Ltd.'s commitment to the Continental European
    reinsurance market, and will focus on regional business that is
    complimentary to the existing relationships of Arch Re in Bermuda. The
    new office will also have a strong emphasis on the broker market.

    The office will operate as Arch Reinsurance Ltd., Hamilton
    (Bermuda), European Branch Zurich, and will be headed by two new
    executives. Helmut Sohler will serve as President and Chief Executive
    Officer, and Bjorn Bucher will be the Chief Underwriting Officer. Arch
    Re is enthusiastic about the hiring of these two exceptional
    underwriters with extensive experience in various lines in Europe. Mr.
    Sohler was most recently a Board Member of Gothaer, a German mutual
    insurer, and Mr. Bucher was previously Chief Underwriting Officer at
    Alea Europe. Mr. Sohler will report to Marc Grandisson, Chairman and
    Chief Executive Officer of Arch Worldwide Reinsurance Group.
