Regulatory News:
Passenger traffic
In September 2008, Aéroports de Paris (Paris:ADP) (Pink Sheets:AEOPF) handled 7.4 million passengers, recording a 3.6% decrease in traffic as compared to September 2007, divided up between 5.3 million at Paris–Charles de Gaulle (–2,8%) and 2.1 million at Paris–Orly (–5.4%). This decrease in traffic is mainly due to the global financial and economic situation.
In September 2008, domestic traffic fell by 5.9%. European traffic stood at –2.8% with –2.5% for Schengen destinations and –8.5% for traffic to and from Great Britain and Ireland.
Passenger total on the other international routes decreased by 3% but with different patterns. The North and Latin American markets increased by 1.6%. The African market stood at –8.9% mainly due to the Ramadan. Traffic on routes to and from Asia and the Middle–East decreased by 2.8%.
Over the first nine months of this year, passenger traffic recorded a 1.5% growth.
For 2009, Aéroports de Paris considers that its strong competitive position and the pursuance of its efforts in terms of investment, quality upgrading and operational performance, will enable it to record, despite a demanding environment, a slight growth in passenger traffic (the group previously expected a traffic growth between 2 and 3.5%).
The Group maintains its 2008 turnover and EBITDA growth objective, substantially higher than traffic target, with an EBITDA growth between 9% and 12% in 2008. The Group also confirms its EBITDA growth target of a 60% increase in absolute value between 2005 and 2010.
