Fiat CEO says tie-up with Volkswagen was never on agenda


    TURIN Italy (Reuters) - The chief executive of Fiat Chrysler on Wednesday quashed all speculation of a possible tie-up with Germany's Volkswagen saying the idea had never been on the agenda.

    A German magazine earlier this month reported VOLKSWAGEN (VOW.XE)Chairman Ferdinand Piech had held talks with the owners of FIAT (F.IT)Chrysler about buying all or part of the group.

    Fiat Chrysler denied the report and Volkswagen said it had no takeover plans.
