LTV World Available in All Europe
SES SIRIUS AB, an SES ASTRA company, announced today that the
Lithuanian free-to-air public channel LTV World can be received by all
cable networks in Europe via the SIRIUS 4 satellite. Since beginning
of April, this public channel is available to the many Lithuanians
living abroad. SES ASTRA is an SES company (Euronext Paris and
Luxembourg Stock Exchange).
Public Institution Lithuanian Radio and Television (LRT) and the
satellite operator SES SIRIUS have signed an agreement for the
broadcast of LTV´s third channel, LTV World, via SIRIUS 4 to cable
networks in all Europe on a 12690.000 MHz frequency. The channel has
been moved from the Nordic beam to the European beam so that the
Lithuanians living outside their country can watch LTV World, which is
the international version of the Lithuanian national channels LTV and
LTV2.
Boris Moskaliouk, Sales Manager of SES SIRIUS, said: "We are happy
to help the public channels in their mission to spread national news
and culture for Lithuanians living outside their country. With the
transmission on the European beam of SIRIUS 4, the channel will reach
many Lithuanians living in Europe, mainly in the UK, in Ireland and in
Spain."
According to Audrius Siaurusevicius, General Director of LRT, it
is particularly gratifying that the Lithuanians living in the Western
part of the European continent, namely in the UK, Ireland and Spain
which form an important part of the Lithuanian emigration, will be
able to keep up with the life of their homeland thanks to the
programmes of the Lithuanian national broadcaster.
The other Lithuanian channels available via SIRIUS are: LNK, TV1
TV3 Lithuania and Tango TV.
