Stephen Dunbar-Johnson Named Publisher of the International Herald Tribune



    The International Herald Tribune announced today that Stephen
    Dunbar-Johnson, executive vice president, has been named publisher,
    succeeding Michael Golden, who will continue to serve as The New York
    Times Company´s vice chairman. Mr. Dunbar-Johnson will continue to
    report to Mr. Golden and will also report to Scott Heekin-Canedy,
    president and general manager of The New York Times.

    "Stephen will be a strong leader for the IHT," Mr. Golden said.
    "His deep knowledge and extensive experience in the media business
    will enable him to continue to drive growth in the business and
    support the high-quality journalism for which the IHT is known.
    Stephen´s leadership, supported by a strong executive committee, has
    fueled the IHT´s growth and accomplishments over the past three
    years."

    Mr. Dunbar-Johnson was named executive vice president of the IHT
    in 2006. Previously he served as vice president and commercial
    director and as advertising director since joining the IHT in 1998.
    Before coming to the IHT, Mr. Dunbar-Johnson was the U.K.,
    advertisement director of the Financial Times. During his 12 years at
    the FT, Mr. Dunbar-Johnson held various positions in the paper´s
    advertising department, including advertising manager in France and
    vice president of advertising in the Americas based in New York. He
    was educated at Worth´s School and Kent University in the U.K., and
    completed an executive management program at the Wharton School at the
    University of Pennsylvania.
