Sara Lee shares rise on private equity bid report


    (Reuters) - Shares of coffee and meat company Sara Lee Corp were up 3 percent, after reports that the company will weigh an offer from a group of private equity firms which values the company at up to $20 a share, or nearly $13 billion.

    Sara Lee, which has a market capitalization of about $12 billion, has been examining various options such as selling itself or splitting itself up into meat and beverage units.
