Democrats expect to have votes to move Wall Street bill


    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Assistant Senate Democratic Leader Dick Durbin said on Thursday he believes there are the needed 60 votes in the 100-member Senate to advance a sweeping bill to tighten regulation of the financial industry.

    "We feel we have the votes to get it," Durbin told reporters.

    Democrats have scheduled a 2:30 p.m. EDT (1830 GMT) vote that would allow them to move toward final passage of the bill. They fell two votes short on Wednesday.
