Wall Street boosted by earnings and data

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks rose 1 percent in morning trading on Tuesday as regional manufacturing data and solid corporate earnings fueled investor optimism.

Oil and basic materials company shares gave the biggest boost to the S&P 500 index, as the U.S. dollar fell against the euro and helped boost commodity prices.

The Dow Jones industrial average gained 104.15 points, or 1.03 percent, to 10,203.29. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 12.58 points, or 1.17 percent, to 1,088.09. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 21.74 points, or 1.00 percent, to 2,205.27.
