Marsh Taps Henry Allen to Head Global Consumer Business



    Marsh Inc., the world's leading risk and insurance services firm,
    announced the appointment of Henry S. Allen as Global Leader, Consumer
    Business, which includes the firm's Affinity and Program Management
    businesses, as well as its Private Client Services division.

    Mr. Allen, who reports to Joseph A. Varnas, Chief Operating
    Officer of Marsh, joined Marsh in 2002 as Practice Leader for the
    Global Trade Credit Practice and Head of Marsh's Affinity Business in
    Europe and the Middle East. Subsequently, he was also appointed leader
    of the firm's Private Client Services and Small Commercial Practices
    in Europe and the Middle East.

    "We view the Consumer business not only as a core part of Marsh's
    offering to Institutional clients, but also as a huge opportunity for
    growth and a competitive advantage in the market," commented Mr.
    Varnas.

    In 2006, Mr. Allen moved to the U.S. to assume responsibility for
    the strategy, business development, and overall growth initiatives for
    Marsh's Consumer businesses in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the
    Pacific.

    Before joining Marsh, Mr. Allen ran the European operations of
    Geocapital, a U.S.-based venture capital firm. From 1994 to 2000, he
    was with GE Capital, where he served in a variety of senior leadership
    positions in Europe. Previously, he was with 3i, Europe's leading
    private equity provider, for seven years, serving in a variety of
    investment roles in Newcastle and Leeds.

    Educated in the U.K., Mr. Allen holds a degree in Applied
    Chemistry from Salford University, a Diploma in Marketing and Finance
    from Newcastle Polytechnic, and an MBA from Manchester Business
    School.
