Ukraine closest to emissions deal with Japan: source
Japan has negotiated with about 10 eastern and central European countries on such emission credits, called AAUs, in the past two years to help it offset its own greenhouse gas emissions surpluses.
"I understand Ukraine is the closest," the source told Reuters in a telephone interview. It declined to say if there were any other similar deals close to been done or how much and at what cost Japan would buy emission rights from Ukraine.
