Wall St falls after consumer confidence data



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks lost ground on Tuesday after data showed July consumer confidence fell more than expected and as disappointing quarterly results weighed.

    The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 22.14 points, or 0.24 percent, to 9,086.37. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 4.91 points, or 0.50 percent, to 977.27. The Nasdaq Composite Index slid 5.71 points, or 0.29 percent, to 1,962.18.
