Banks, tech shares drag Wall Street lower



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks pared gains on Thursday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite negative in morning trading as bank and technology sector shares weighed.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 24.74 points, or 0.19 percent, to 12,781.70. The S&P 500 Index dipped 2.48 points, or 0.19 percent, to 1,323.58. The Nasdaq Composite fell 6.45 points, or 0.23 percent, to 2,811.86.
