Wall Street turns negative on consumer staples



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks erased earlier gains and turned negative heading in late-morning trade on Thursday, weighed by consumer staples and healthcare sectors.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was down 28.20 points, or 0.28 percent, at 10,031.86. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dipped 1.77 points, or 0.17 percent, at 1,053.56. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 5.84 points, or 0.27 percent, at 2,135.70.
