Wall Street falls further on data and Europe banks



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks extended their decline on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 down more than 3 percent, after data showed U.S. consumer confidence plunged in June and on fresh concerns over euro-zone fiscal problems.

    The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 271.16 points, or 2.67 percent, to 9,867.36. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 32.98 points, or 3.07 percent, to 1,041.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index slid 76.76 points, or 3.46 percent, to 2,143.89.
